I have a Bachelors's Degree from The University of Louisiana at Monroe in Family Consumer Science with a focus on Family Life and Early Childhood Development and a Master’s Degree from Ball State University in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis with an Emphasis in Autism. I love helping children learn through exploration and creation. I believe children of all abilities thrive in a sensory-friendly, naturalistic environment created just for them.

Zakkiyya Ibrahim, Owner/Director

Hi! My name is Mrs. Zee and I am the preschool teacher and owner of Education Explorers! My husband and I have four spunky children(one princess and three princes). My family and I moved to Oregon in 2015. It was quite a culture shock. I grew up in Delhi, Louisiana, a small town in Northeastern Louisiana. It’s the kind of one-stop-light town where everyone is your cousin or your cousin’s cousin. I love to go home twice a year to soak in all that natural Vitamin D from the hot Louisiana sun and to visit my family and friends.

I'm from Nairobi, Kenya. We all moved to the United States in 2005 after 10 years of living in the Refugee camps. I have an Associates degree in General Studies. I speak Somali and Mai Mai ( which is a dialect of Somali ). I took 8 years of Spanish. I love to paint and go hiking on my off time.

I chose to work in early education because teaching provides me with the opportunity and privilege to make a positive impact on the next generation.

Aaliyah Dorsey - Student Intern

Hi, I’m Aaliyah and Mrs. Zee is my mom. I am 15 years old. Most of the day I spend it attending my online charter school. After I am done with my classes I float both the infant/toddler and the preschool. I am quickly learning all the ends and out of caring for children. My years of experience being a big sister to three younger brothers has been the key to my success in making all the babies smile. I enjoy reading to all the students, but toddlers are my favorite age group. When not helping in the classroom or learning in my own online classrooms, I enjoy listening to music, reading, cooking, and singing.

I have worked with all age groups. The majority of my experience has been with people experiencing disabilities and I love it. I bring my education, experience, and skills gained while working with adults and children with various medical and physical disabilities to the early education field.
